My Approach
I obtained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Salomons, Canterbury Christchurch University in 2009 and since then I have worked in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). I have worked in various teams offering assessment, treatment, and supervision of staff working with, children and adolescents and families across the age range and in lots of different situations.
I take a whole systems approach and understanding the difficulties being presented in the context that a person (child, young person or adult) is in for example their family, their school, their work, their social circle. I aim to work with my client(s) to get to a shared formulation (understanding or story of the problem), even when working with someone on their own, we would be thinking about their wider context as well.
I have had training in and have experience of delivering:
-
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
-
Narrative Therapy
-
Brief Solution Focussed Therapy
